The Emergency: 'The Emergency Live!'

The Emergency Live! returns to The Dock Arts Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on Thursday March 10th.

The Emergency Live! is a radio show onstage, with a mix of sketches and songs based on the current topical satirical output of The Emergency on their daily inserts on Timeless Hits 4fm in association with 11890 Directory Enquiries along with special and bang-up-to-date material exclusive to the stage show.

Dermot Carmody & Morgan C Jones (aka “Carmody & Jones“) will represent The Emergency when they perform during the Leviathan Election Count Party from 6pm in The Sugar Club, Leeson St, Dublin 2.

Paddy Cullivan hosts the event which will include TV coverage of the count & Colm O’Regan’s Guide to Irish Politics. there’ll be analysis from Stephen O’Leary of O’Leary Analytics, Veronica Walsh and Mick Fealty of Slugger O’Toole on the Twitter machine, plus many more to be confirmed.

Carmody & Jones will headline The Bankers Comedy Club on Saturday Jan 22nd. The show starts at 9 with a full bill of comedic entertainment capped off by a full set of tuneful mirth from The Emergency’s musical duo.

The club is upstairs at The Bankers Pub which is at 16 Trinity Street, Dublin 2.

The Emergency is pleased to announce that we’ll be the guests of The Leitrim Laughs Comedy Club for a full-length “The Emergency Live!” show in The Dock Arts Centre in Carrick on Shannon on Thursday October 14th.

We Are Where We Were takes the form of a radio show performed live on stage by The Emergency and will consist of The Emergency’s trademark melange of sketches and songs satirising the current miasma that is Ireland. The Emergency thrives on the now and almost instantaneous satire, assuring the audience of lines wet upon the page lampooning the political idiocy of the moment as well as some gems from The Emergency’s output to date in 2010.

A detachment from The Emergency is mustering to bestride the boards as part of the Leviathan Political Cabaret on Thursday February 4th at The Button Factory in Dublin’s Temple Bar.

The Emergency, appearing live for the first time this year, will perform a set of new sketches and songs – including the live premiere of their recent Iris Robinson tribute.

A New Constitution: A Second Republic?

The show proposes and debates a new constitution to replace the 1937 document. It will be hosted by Brendan Halligan, chairman of the Institute of International and European Affairs; Irish Times columnist, Elaine Byrne; Senator Rónán Mullen; and one of Ireland’s foremost constitutional experts Gerard Hogan SC.
